| I'm not sure anyone reads this thing anymore... I mean it's not like I update all that frequently. It's nearly that time again, my birthday. Tomorrow I will be turning 23. That's pretty damned scary because it felt just like yesterday that I turned 18. The past year has gone past quite fast for me. I'm hoping that this year will be just as successful as last year and that it will be just as enjoyable. I'm having a few birthday gatherings this year; I've had one with close friends already, having a family one tonight and having one tomorrow with many random friends and co workers. I quit JBs about 2 weeks ago. I think it was a really good decision. I'm now unemployed and looking for a new job.. hopefully something will come up soon! I miss making money because I love spending money... haha. I've saved a sufficient amount the past few months and I now have enough to go on holiday somewhere a bit more extravagant than Asia. However, I still need to save heaps more before I can visit the US... Damn conversion rates suck!! I am waiting for the rates to come back up.. because all my hard earned money will equate to nothing should I visit the US! I'm looking forward to this year; I'm hoping I will succeed and gain more valuable experiences in life. | | |
| So I'm on holidays right now and to be honest.. I'm pretty damned bored.
I've been busy for the past 10+ weeks and to suddenly be doing nothing is weird.
I went and bought Kevs birthday present yesterday. Hopefully he likes it. On my way home I bumped into my old boss. He asked if I was interested in coming back in time for the new store. I mentioned that I didn't want to be working on the counter anymore. As it turns out they need a part time admin person. I have been looking at admin jobs for the past week so this seems like a good opportunity. So I will be working 3 times a week in JBs again soon. He mentioned he might get me to work in other sections as well if need be - which is fine with me as I was looking for a full time job anyway.
I miss teaching. It's something I feel quite confident in. It's fun, it's interesting and it's different everyday. The only thing I don't miss about teaching is the marking and the assessment. But still. I do miss it. It's been less than a week and I'm feeling like this! I guess I really am made to be a teacher!
I've been afraid in the past that I would never be able to teach.. but now I realise I love it and that I'm good at it - I'm really relieved. I need work on many areas of teaching still - but it is a learning process and it will come gradually.
Went to the Royal Show on Sunday. Damn it's getting more and more expensive every year. There weren't really good show bags this year so I didn't get any. The animals were cute - rather smelly though. I'm not sure I'll go next year. I think it's pretty pricey!! It was a fun day though :).
My PC is infected with a crazy virus at the moment. I'm really grateful that my laptop is a mac. Not as infectable! I'm too lazy to format it though. I've backed everything up on my new 1TB external HDD :D.
Sigh. I really am bored... not to mention damn BROKE!

| So it has been awhile since I last updated and the last time I updated I was quite frustrated.
In the end things were sorted out and yes I am doing my interns now.. so all is good.
At the moment I'm sick. I hate being sick. Especially since I know the next 6 weeks of my life are going to be the most busiest weeks of my life ever! I officially start my interns next week. Teaching is something I actually quite enjoy however it is also very draining. It's not as easy as people may seem to think. In fact at times I find it quite scary and daunting being a teacher. That being said it is a very rewarding job. I think most people don't understand until they have taught. The amount of time teachers put into work is quite incredible; especially considering how underpaid they are for the amount they do.
I'm slowly starting to learn to be a better cook these days. I'm proud of myself because I made dumplings and everyone seemed to really enjoy them. I also made some stuff for Dad over the past week and he seems to really like my cooking too. I guess it's good that Mum has gone away for awhile - it gives me time to learn more house things. I can't wait to move out to be honest.. gives me more time to experiment with things and learn. I really want to learn to make those really yummy, beautiful cakes! I feel restricted to do this now because I don't like people watching over my shoulder as I learn to create these things.. not to mention I'm not sure mum would appreciate the mess I'd probably make!
I can't believe it's August already. It amazes me at how much more I've gained from this year then last year. I've made a lot of progress with life and myself and I'm quite proud of that. I was really stuck in the slums last year!
At uni today there was this flyer on the wall about a dog called Ollie. Ollie was rescued and needs a home.. He looks like a gorgeous dog and I really want to adopt him! However, I'm not so sure my parents would like the idea of having two dogs.. and I'm not sure how my dog would react to having another dog around.. so I didn't call them.. But I really want to!
Hmm what else? Oh I know! I have my lovely, lovely Macbook now! It took a while to get use to.. but it's lovely now that I know how to use it =). It's not exactly made for gaming but I have my PC for that still. It's proving to be very handy - especially considering I can take it with me to school etc. I just love it =D!
Well I better finish this bloody assignment I have due tomorrow..! Hopefully.. will update with more interesting things next time! | | |
